Fridge water filters are designed to be replaced either at six monthly intervals or when the 'replace cartridge' light comes on (if fitted). They increase taste of the water from the fridge dispenser.

It is not advisable that a filter cartridge is used beyond its recommended life it may harbour bacteria. Beware of cheap imitations – you normally get what you pay for. There are cheaper fridge water filters on the market. They usually last less time in your fridge & may even cause a safety hazard. Best to get a good quality fridge water filter at a sensible price.
