Oven Fan Motor « Cooker - Oven Parts

The first place to look if your oven is noisy. If you open the oven door - the fan motor cuts out - the noise stops, you’ve nailed the fault yourself! Normally located at the rear of the oven. The replacement is removed/replaced from the back of the oven. The screw holding the fan blade tight is normally loosened by turning the nut clockwise – the reverse to normal screws.

If the shaft is damaged you’ll to replace the fan motor as a complete unit - oven fan motor shafts aren’t supplied as a individual spare part.

It’s well worth while inspecting the fan oven element – if you haven’t oven heat after the oven fan motor is fitted. If the fan motor stops running suddenly the fan oven element will continue to heat – the fan motor isn’t cooling it down – so the element has poor airflow, overheats & becomes faulty.

Beware of cheap imitations – you normally get what you pay for. There are cheaper oven fan motors on the market. They usually last less time in your cooker or hob & may even cause a safety hazard. Best to get a good quality oven fan motors at a sensible price.
