Microwave Oven Repair

First of all ALWAYS isolate/unplug your Microwave Oven from the mains supply. These types of installations SHOULD have there own circuit to isolate at the consumer unit. NEVER rely on the switch alone. You can still receive quite a nasty electrical shock from the internal parts on your microwave oven, even after you plug it out.

Some of the modern Microwave Ovens use a standard plug. Ensure that it is removed/isolated before you attempt to carry out repairs. These Repair Tips are intended as a guide only. If unsure of how to carry out a repair on an appliance, consult a suitably qualified engineer.

This is normally caused by: (a) food or liquids on the waveguide (protective cover) – If there are burn marks/holes in the waveguide, It needs to be replaced.
