My Fridge Freezer will not run

Is the light on, or is there sound from the fridge?

No – Unplug the Fridge Freezer from the power socket on the wall. Plug in a radio/lamp that you know is working to the power socket on the wall. If the radio/lamp works, the fault is in the Fridge Freezer. If the radio/lamp doesn’t work, check the fuses or tripswitches on the fuseboard.

Is the compressor – at the back of the fridge freezer – hot or cold?

The compressor is cold – Check the Thermostat or Motor Relay. Replace if Faulty.

The compressor is hot – It’s most likely (a) leakage of gas/refrigerant (b) faulty compressor. You’ll need to consult a suitably qualified engineer.

**The compressor is a round black ball at the bottom/back of the appliance with pipes to the left and right**
