My Tumble Dryer does not Heat

Heating Element

The Tumble Dryer Heater Element or Tumble Dryer Element as it’s more commonly known is the component which heats the air & dries the clothes.

There are two types of Tumble Dryer Heater Elements:

Some models have the Tumble Dryer heater element with cut-out stats fitted on the element housing.

Some models haven’t the Tumble Dryer heater element with cut-out stats fitted on the element housing. The cut-outs are replaced as separate part. Some manufacturers recommend replacing the cut outs when replacing the heater element. They are easily worked from the back of the Tumble Dryer by accessing the heater element using a standard screwdriver (found in our tools’n’testers section) to remove/replace the heater.

Thermal Cut-Out

The thermal cut-out also known as the TOC (thermal overload cut-out) or Heater Cut-Out is the component which controls the temperature the air in your Tumble Dryer as it dries the clothes. This part is also known as the thermostat in the trade.

(a) Some models have the Tumble Dryer Heater Element with cut-out stats fitted on the element housing.
(b) Some models haven’t the Tumble Dryer Heater Element with cut-out stats fitted on the element housing. The cut-outs are replaced as separate part such as the exhaust pipe in the Tumble Dryer. Some manufacturers recommend replacing the cut outs when replacing the Heater Element. They are easily worked from the back of the Tumble Dryer by accessing the Heater Element using a standard screwdriver (found in our tools’n’testers section) to remove/replace the Heater.
